As we bid farewell to 2023 and usher in the promising new year, we want to extend our warmest wishes to each and every one of you. May 2024 bring you joy, success, and endless opportunities to showcase your unique style through your stunning nail designs. To help you start the year on a fabulous note, we've put together four tips inspired by the latest natural nail trends for 2024. 1. Au Naturel Elegance: Minimalistic Chic This year, less is more when it comes to nail art. Embrace the beauty of simplicity by opting for clean, minimalistic designs that highlight the natural elegance of your nails. Consider soft, neutral tones like nude, blush, and pastels for a timeless and sophisticated look. A sleek, simple design not only complements any outfit but also allows your natural nail health to take center stage. 2. Sustainable Beauty: Eco-Friendly Nail Care In 2024, the beauty industry is making a shift towards sustainability, and your nails can be a part of this eco-friendly movement too. Choose nail products that are free from harmful chemicals and opt for brands that prioritize environmentally friendly packaging. Embrace natural and organic ingredients for your nail care routine, ensuring not only a stunning look but also a healthier, more sustainable approach to self-care. 3. Negative Space Magic: Playful Designs Negative space nail art continues to reign supreme in 2024. Experiment with creative and playful designs that incorporate the natural color of your nails, leaving certain areas untouched for a trendy, edgy look. Try geometric shapes, abstract patterns, or even delicate lines to add a touch of artistry to your nails. This trend allows you to showcase your personality while maintaining the health of your natural nails. 4. The Power of Self-Care: Healthy Nail Habits As we embark on a new year, let's prioritize the health and well-being of our natural nails. Incorporate a regular nail care routine, including moisturizing, trimming, and gentle shaping. Invest in quality nail strengtheners and cuticle oils to keep your nails strong and hydrated. Taking the time for self-care not only enhances the natural beauty of your nails but also promotes overall well-being. Conclusion: Dear NailFriends, as we step into the exciting year of 2024, let's celebrate the beauty of our natural nails and explore the latest trends that reflect our individual style. May this year bring you endless opportunities for creativity, self-expression, and, of course, flawless nails. Here's to a happy and healthy new year filled with fabulous manicures! With love and nail art magic, Michelle

  • Unlocking the Secret to Healthy Nails: The Importance of Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover

Beautifully manicured nails are a statement of self-care and style. Whether you enjoy experimenting with vibrant colors or prefer a classic nude look, the key to maintaining healthy nails lies in the products you use. One often-overlooked hero in nail care is non-acetone nail polish remover. In this blog post, we'll delve into the importance of choosing non-acetone options and how they contribute to the overall well-being of your nails. HERE IS FIVE REASON YOU SHOULD CHOOSE NON-ACETONE REMOVER 1.Gentle on Your Nails: Traditional nail polish removers often contain harsh chemicals, like acetone, which can strip your nails of natural oils, leaving them dry and brittle. Non-acetone nail polish removers, on the other hand, are formulated with gentler ingredients that effectively remove polish without compromising the health of your nails. 2. Nourishing Ingredients: Many non-acetone nail polish removers are enriched with nourishing ingredients such as vitamin E, aloe vera, and glycerin. These components help moisturize and condition your nails, preventing them from becoming dehydrated and prone to breakage. Regular use of non-acetone removers can contribute to stronger and more resilient nails. 3. Ideal for Sensitive Nails: If you have sensitive nails or skin, non-acetone nail polish removers are a game-changer. The absence of harsh chemicals makes them a milder option, reducing the risk of irritation or allergic reactions. This makes them suitable for individuals with allergies or sensitivities to strong nail polish removers. 4. Preserving Nail Extensions and Art: For those who love nail extensions or intricate nail art, non-acetone removers are a safer choice. Acetone can be harsh on artificial nails, causing them to weaken or lose their shine. Non-acetone formulas help preserve the integrity of your nail extensions and protect the vibrancy of your nail art. 5. Environmentally Friendly: Choosing non-acetone nail polish remover is not only good for your nails but also for the environment. Acetone is a potent solvent that can be harmful if not disposed of properly. Non-acetone removers are often considered more environmentally friendly, making them a responsible choice for conscious consumers. Conclusion: In the quest for flawless nails, it's crucial to prioritize their health. By opting for non-acetone nail polish removers by DEMIblue, you're making a conscious choice to protect your nails from the damaging effects of harsh chemicals. Embrace the nurturing power of non-acetone formulas and witness the transformation in the strength and beauty of your nails. Your nails deserve the best – treat them with the care they deserve! • 13 Tips for Strong Healthy Nails with Winter Nail Care

When the temperatures drop, exposure to the elements can mean dry, brittle nails easily prone to breakage and infection. Nurse your nails back to health this season with a little TLC from these tips for strong healthy nails during the winter. 1. APPLY MOISTURIZER REGULARLY Whenever you are applying cream to your hands, make sure to rub some into your cuticles and nail beds to keep them well hydrated and nourished throughout the season. Winter Nail Care is CRUCIAL! 2. DRINK MORE WATER When nails lose the moisture they need they naturally become weak and frail causing easily damaged nails. To avoid this, particularly in winter, it’s important to stay well hydrated and the best way to do so is to drink more water. 3. MASSAGE CUTICLES When you’re not hydrating your nails with h2o, it’s important to massage your nails and cuticles. Make it a daily habit to use DEMIblue On -The- Go-Cuticle and Nail Oil Pen. 4. TAKE A BREAK FROM NAIL POLISH Give your nails some breathing room and time by taking a break from nail polish. Build your nails with a Nail Strengthener! 5. EAT PROTEIN Because nails are made up of a protein called keratin, it’s important to consume protein filled sources for nails to grow. 6. WEAR RUBBER GLOVES The exposure to cleaning chemicals and excess water can dry out nails, leaving them brittle and easily breakable. Rubber Gloves with an Elastic Band keeps nails safe. 7. AVOID POLISH REMOVERS WITH ACETONE Avoid any nail polish removers with acetone or formaldehyde as they are too harsh for nails and can cause nails to dry out, leaving them brittle and prone to breakage. Try Non Acetone Removers with essential oils. 8. FILE NAILS CORRECTLY To keep your nails at their strongest and healthiest in winter, always file nails in one direction, not in a back and forth motion as this can cause breakage, peeling and further damage to your nails overall strength. 9. PAINT INSIDE LINES Keep your nail polish from chipping by painting inside the lines. This ensures your natural nails are protected and your color last longer. Need help with applying your nail polish, try our practice sheet or see "HOW TO" videos. 10. STAY AWAY FROM ACRYLIC Acrylic nails can weaken your real nails. Although they look pretty, it’s best to refrain from getting them. PLUS THE CHEMICALS ARE TOXIC! Go Vegan with DEMIblue! 11. STOP BITING This may seem obvious, but never bite your nails. It’ll cause noticeable damage to them. It’s always difficult to get rid of bad habits, but this is one you don’t want to keep. Chew Gum Instead. 12. DON'T USE FOR ROUGH PURPOSES If you need to tear open a package, use scissors. If you need to rip open tape, use a blade. When you use your nails in order to open items, it makes them weaker. 13. USE NAIL CARE ESSENTIALS Don’t let your nails fall victim to winter frost, Using nail care essentials can help to improve and restore the nails all winter long.

  • Reduce Breast Cancer Risk with DEMIblue

These recommendations are based on established scientific research and obtained from the PCRM website. DID YOU KNOW? You can reduce breast cancer risk in four simple steps: Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Limit your intake of red and processed meats. Reduce your consumption of sugary drinks and high-calorie, low-nutrient foods. Control portion sizes to manage your weight and maintain a healthy body mass index (BMI). Engage in regular physical activity, such as brisk walking, jogging, or swimming. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week. Limit Alcohol Consumption: If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Limit alcohol intake to one drink per day or less. Avoid Tobacco: Do not smoke or use tobacco products, and avoid exposure to secondhand smoke. Be Breast Aware and Get Regular Screenings: Perform regular breast self-exams to become familiar with the normal appearance and feel of your breasts. Report any changes to your healthcare provider. Follow recommended breast cancer screening guidelines, which may include mammograms, clinical breast exams, and, in some cases, breast MRIs. The timing and frequency of screenings may vary based on your age and risk factors, so consult with your healthcare provider. Additionally, it's important to be aware of your family history and genetic predisposition to breast cancer. If you have a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors, discuss your individualized risk assessment and screening options with a healthcare professional. Please note that while these lifestyle choices may help reduce the risk of breast cancer, they cannot guarantee prevention. Regular check-ups with a healthcare provider and early detection are crucial for the best chances of detecting and treating breast cancer at an early stage. Always consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and guidance regarding breast cancer risk reduction. • October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month aims to increase the early detection of breast cancer by educating and encouraging women to have mammograms. Breast cancer is a disease in which cells in the breast grow without regulation and eventually out of control. It is the most common cancer among American women; around 1 in 8 US women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. However, preventative care and screenings are recommended throughout the US. Finding breast cancer early makes it easier to treat. The most common preventative screening for breast cancer is mammograms. How often and when someone should start the screen varies, so it’s best to talk with a healthcare professional about what is best. Generally, people can start getting mammograms at age 40. From age 50 to 74, the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends that people with an average risk of breast cancer be screened every two years. Biennial screening can continue past 74, but it is largely up to the individual to decide based on personal risks. Here are screening timeline comparisons between the top medical organizations in the US. Breast cancer treatment varies based on the kind of breast cancer and how far it has spread. Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, hormonal, biological, and radiation therapies. Each treatment has its own set of risks and side effects. For instance, chemotherapy treatments may make nails more brittle and sensitive to the chemicals in typical nail polishes. How DEMIblue is Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month DEMIblue started in 2018 after our founder’s mother was in the remission stages from breast cancer. Upon learning that many cosmetics contain potentially toxic chemicals harmful to cancer patients receiving treatment, Michelle Robinson decided to create DEMIblue, a nontoxic and vegan nail polish brand. Complete with 21-free nail polish colors and acetone-free nail polish remover, DEMIblue’s formulation offers a healthy and safe product for all individuals. This month, we are featuring two unique, limited-time sets for the survivor in your life. Check out the Juliet Box and the Survivor Duo (with our color of the month, Pink Panties). A portion of the proceeds will go to community organizations focused on the fight against Breast Cancer. In support of all breast cancer survivors, DEMIblue is honoring survivors with the tag #demibluecares this month by hosting shoutouts and giveaways. Check out our website to learn more. • How to Repair and Rejuvenate Nails

Are your nails looking a little bit tired this summer from all the fun? Take a break and learn how you can pamper your nails so they look their best. Moisturize As mentioned many times before, keeping your nails moist allows them to be pliable and healthy, preventing brittleness or cracking. However, too much moisture is not good either. To maintain a reasonable level, consider using cuticle oil or cream to keep your nails hydrated. You can use something as simple as a clear coat to create a barrier and prevent too much water from infiltrating. When considering nail polish remover options, opt for a non-acetone remover. They are less drying on your nails. Protect your nails Remember to protect your nails while they are recovering. Wear gloves when doing housework like gardening or cleaning. Natural materials and harsh cleaning products can harm your nails. Nails are not tools, so don’t use them in place of tools. Nutrients Biotin is a Vitamin B supplement associated with strengthening your hair and nails. Foods high in biotin, like liver, cooked eggs, avocados, and whole grains, can help your nails if they are brittle and weak. Many multivitamins also contain biotin that can help with the overall health of your body, not just your nails. A popular favorite is Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nails. Want to learn more? • 3 Things You SHOULD NOT Do to Your Nails

Nail care is important to preserve the integrity of your nails. Properly strong and flexible nails offer the best base for manicures. While there are many do’s and don’ts to nail care, here are three things you absolutely should avoid doing to your nails. Biting or picking nails Biting damages the fingernail, leading to cracking and brittleness. Weak or cracked nails risk allowing fungi or bacteria into the nail bed. Since nails protect the nail bed from outside damage, it’s important to ensure your nails stay intact. Also, avoid picking at skin or loose hangnails as they can tear and damage your nails too. Use harsh chemicals on nails Harsh chemicals can wear away at your nail health. They may dry up your hands, leading to more brittle and dry nails. Consider wearing gloves when cleaning to protect your hands from chemicals. Opt for non-toxic and vegan nail polish brands like DEMIblue that don’t use toxic chemicals in their polish formulas. Also, consider a soy-based remover instead of acetone. Using nails as tools Your nails are attached to you. Using them as tools can weaken that bond and hurt your nails in the long term. In terms of strength, you are better off opting for the actual tool designed for the job, like a can opener. A quick hack for opening soda cans if you have long nails, opt for a spoon.
